Ran another 4 miles today:
1 mile on a treadmil, 8 inch incline, 5.5 mph pace.
1 mile on an elliptical, sports training fluctuating resistance, 6.5 mph pace.
1 mile back on treadmil, 4 inch incline, 5 mph pace.
1 mile back on elliptical, sports training fluctuating resistance, 6.5 mph pace.
No breaks in-between, lots of water consumption after the first mile.
Who knew that I’d be turning into an exercise junkie? This might not seem like a lot, but compared to what I’ve been capable of doing in the past, this is above and beyond my expectations for an easy weekend workout.
2 months ago I had trouble running a mile and a half straight (of course I’d try to do it at an 8.5 mph pace). Managing my breathing and pacing myself, finding a rhythm, has been a godsend for my endurance (although I still struggle for air). Not to mention all the core workouts I’ve been doing in addition to cardio. If I didn’t drink so much and ate a little healthier over the past couple of weeks, I’d be seeing some major definition starting.
I’m making a ‘dare’ to myself coming up here. Every day in the month of March I will be exercising and posting what I’ve done for the day either here or on twitter. If I happen to miss a day, I’ll force myself to do double the next. This will be in preparation, leading up to the date that I’ll be running Tough Mudder with my team in the second weekend of April.
Wish me luck!!! This is going to be awesome!
